Launched in March by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee, the contest received more than 420,000 entries, by entrants across the country aged between 6 and 15.

The contest aims to educate children about the significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, nurture their gratitude for fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for national liberation, and inspire patriotism and national pride among them.

At the award ceremony, the organising board presented 10 first, 20 second, 40 third, and 54 consolation prizes, to the best entries.

Ten local Departments of Education and Training were also awarded for having the largest number of entrants.
