It came following a series of flights from Kazakhstan with more than 600 passengers to Phu Quoc.

From now until April 2024, there will be more charter flights from Prague to Phu Quoc with a frequency of one flight per week. The tourists will stay in Phu Quoc for one to two weeks.

Nguyen Van Hoa, Chairman of the travel agency Dong Noi Phu Quoc, said Phu Quoc is entering its dry season and it is also when tourists from Europe and North Asia travel here for winter holidays.

He said he expects to welcome more Czech tourists in the future.

Currently, Phu Quoc Airport is serving international flights to and from Incheon (Republic of Korea), Bangkok (Thailand), Hong Kong (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Shanghai Pudong (China), Almaty and Taraz (Kazakhstan), and Prague (Czech Republic).

The airport also serves domestic flights from and to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Nang and Cam Ranh.

In the coming months, the island also expects to welcome more foreign tourists by cruise ship, in addition to air passengers.

Recently, Phu Quoc has been named as one of the best islands for tourism in Asia and the world by many famous international travel magazines such as Conde Nast Traveller and Travel+Leisure.
