Proactively securing supplies
At many cooperatives, processing and packaging workshops are busy meeting Tet orders. Tran Thi Thuy, Director of the Huong Thuy Lotus Tea Cooperative in Tay Ho Ward (Ha Noi), said that since the beginning of the twelfth lunar month, orders from agents and agricultural produce shops have risen by 20-30%. To meet Tet demand, three to four months earlier, the cooperative had drawn up plans to stockpile goods, preparing 500-700 gift sets for enterprises and organisations seeking corporate gifts.
Many cooperatives in Son La Province have also stepped up production to meet consumer demand. Alongside applying technical measures to boost productivity, they have focused on cultivation in line with VietGAP and organic standards, controlling inputs, keeping production logs and ensuring product traceability to guarantee food safety. These measures are regarded as key to maintaining consumer trust in their products.
At the Binh Thuan Production, Trading and Integrated Services Cooperative in Binh Thuan Commune, workers have been particularly busy in recent days to meet delivery schedules for partners.
Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Binh shared that as early as the third quarter, the cooperative had drawn up a tea production plan for Tet. The cooperative has focused on improving product quality, paying close attention to roasting and drying, packaging, and upgrading designs to suit market tastes. Processed tea output for this year’s Tet has increased by about 25% compared to the previous year.
Not only cooperatives but also farmers in raw material areas have actively joined in. Lo Van Huoi from Lom Bua Village, Binh Thuan Commune, said that this year local people have cared for and harvested tea strictly in line with the techniques they were trained in, supplying high-quality raw materials to cooperatives in the area.
Tea is delivered for processing immediately after harvesting. With cooperatives providing stable market linkages, farmers feel reassured about production.
In Quang Ninh Province, many enterprises and cooperatives have also developed early plans to prepare supplies and meet the surge in year-end consumption.
Le Thi Them, Director of Huy Hoong Cooperative, said the unit currently has nine products certified under the OCOP programme with ratings of three to four stars.
During the Tet peak season, consumption rises sharply, particularly for golden camellia tea, liquor, jams and mulberry syrup. The cooperative has carefully prepared raw materials and manpower, invested in improving designs and packaging to meet market demand.
Tightening quality control of agricultural produce
According to Ca Thi Ngoc, Vice Chairwoman of Binh Thuan Commune, Son La Province, the commune has worked with cooperatives to both support production and effectively control product quality.
Local authorities regularly provide support with regard to administrative procedures, connect with outlets for product consumption and promote compliance with food safety regulations.
At the same time, they work with relevant agencies to inspect the use of raw materials, processing procedures and product labelling to ensure the quality of goods entering the market.
“We also encourage cooperatives to forge closer links with farmers in raw material areas and to pursue safe and sustainable production. This is the foundation for the stable development of the commune’s cooperative economy, not only during Tet but in the long term,” Ngoc emphasised.
Nguyen Minh Son, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that to meet Tet consumption demand, the provincial agricultural sector has proactively developed plans focusing on key agricultural products, OCOP items and essential foodstuffs.
Localities, cooperatives and agricultural enterprises have been instructed to secure raw material supplies, ensuring output goes hand in hand with quality. The sector has also stepped up guidance on safe production processes, traceability and quality control before products are released to the market.
The province has prioritised market linkages, supporting cooperatives and enterprises to participate in spring fairs, OCOP sales points and distribution networks both within and beyond the province.
In particular, the Quang Ninh Spring 2026 OCOP Fair has opened up opportunities to bring agricultural produce directly to consumers, helping to stabilise the market and enhance the value of local agricultural products.
