The information was announced by Senior Lieutenant-colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy of the Logistics Department of Military Zone 1.

The project, which is part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) (December 22, 1944-2014), was funded by capital contributed by businesses, officials, and soldiers in the army, Thuy said.

The completed project includes 23km of upgraded road from National Highway 3 to Hoa Tham and Tam Kim communes, newly built clean water supply, reception and exhibition facilities, and improved observatory and memorial house for the first 34 VPA soldiers. The project also helped build nine houses for policy beneficiaries and two kindergartens for Hoa Tham and Tam Kim communes.

The completed facilities will be handed over to local authorities by the end of this month.
