An agreement to this effect was signed between the ACEF Korean Cultural Centre and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) in Ho Chi Minh City on April 24.

Director of the ACEF Cultural Centre Kim Ki Young said that through this project the ACEF hoped to enhance the friendship and cultural exchange between the peoples of the two countries.

In 2013, the ACEF funded the construction of 93 houses for needy people in southern Vietnam including the building of the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Village in Vung Liem town, Vinh Long province.

Chairman of the Kien Giang provincial Union of Friendship Organisations Le Van Hong said that the project is of great social and humanitarian value and will create favourable conditions for needy households to escape from poverty and stabilise their lives.

He added that the project also contributes to strengthening co-operation and exchanges between localities, friendship organisations and the peoples of the two countries, and that it nurtures the development of the Vietnam-RoK comprehensive partnership.
