The event will feature 380 entries by 81 agencies nationwide. The entries will compete in six categories of news reportage, thematic programmes, interviews, radio stories, programmes in ethnic languages, and live broadcast programmes.

The festival will also include an international conference on digital broadcast transformation, an art exchange among Cheo (traditional opera) lovers, and a running competition.

The National Radio Festival is held biennially by national radio broadcaster Voice of Vietnam (VOV), to honour outstanding radio works and those working in the sector.

It also provides an opportunity for journalists, editors, and reporters to exchange and learn experiences with each other, thus improving the quality of radio programmes.

Explaining the theme of this year’s festival, VOV’s Vice President and head of the festival’s organising board Tran Minh Hung stressed, that digital transformation will bring practical benefits to journalism and radio, as it can help to increase interaction with the audience, improve the quality of programmes, and promote the development of press agencies.
