Before attending the 2025 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, the delegation laid a wreath at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the city of Montreuil and held a working session with BRED Banque Populaire.
In Montreuil, a suburb of Paris, Minister Nguyen Van Thang and the Ministry of Finance delegation solemnly offered flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau Park.
The delegation then visited the Ho Chi Minh Space at the Museum of Living History, which preserves valuable memorabilia from the President’s revolutionary activities in France during the early 20th century.
Thomas Le Golf, Director of the Museum of Living History, introduced the room that reconstructs the residence of President Ho Chi Minh at No. 9 Compoint Alley in Paris, where he lived from 1921 to 1923.
He noted that Montreuil’s local authorities and people have always taken great care to preserve the statue and treasured images and artefacts related to Ho Chi Minh’s time in France.
That same day, the Ministry of Finance delegation held a working session with senior representatives of BRED Banque Populaire. Although the bank does not currently have a branch or representative office in Viet Nam, its parent group, Groupe BPCE, already has a presence in the country through various channels.
Stève Gentili, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BRED Banque Populaire and Groupe BPCE, expressed the group’s intention to strengthen and expand its presence in Viet Nam and to establish strategic partnerships with major Vietnamese financial and banking institutions.
The two sides discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in the financial and banking sectors, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in Viet Nam.
On June 3 and 4, Minister Nguyen Van Thang is scheduled to attend and deliver remarks at the 2025 Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) sessions.
