To mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Poland (1950–2025), the Embassy of Viet Nam, the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Geological Sciences under the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Viet Nam Association of Science and Technology, and the Hoang Sa–Truong Sa Club in Poland co-organised the conference under the above theme.
In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai underscored the significance of the conference in promoting science and education cooperation, emphasising that it is one of the most vital and long-standing areas of Viet Nam–Poland relations. He also highlighted that the conference formed part of the meaningful series of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation to the University of Warsaw and Rector Alojzy Nowak for their longstanding cooperation and support for Viet Nam in education and scientific research, which has helped generations of Vietnamese students at the university become leading scientists, senior officials, and members of Viet Nam's National Assembly.

On this occasion, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai also conveyed his gratitude to the University’s leadership for the warm reception extended to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his official visit to Poland earlier this year, where the Prime Minister delivered a lecture on the potential for bilateral cooperation in education and scientific research. He expressed confidence that the traditional partnership and friendship of the University of Warsaw with Viet Nam will continue to flourish, especially with the upcoming signing of a new framework agreement on cooperation in education and training.
The Ambassador voiced strong support for joint projects between universities and research institutes of both countries, the planned resumption of the Intergovernmental Committee on Science Cooperation as a platform for information exchange and joint initiatives, as well as the project to establish the Poland–Viet Nam Tropical Research Centre led by Professor Anna Wysocka, a close friend of Viet Nam.
He further expressed hope for more future initiatives, including the introduction of Vietnamese Studies as a discipline at the University of Warsaw.
In his address, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Quy Kien recognised and valued the achievements in bilateral cooperation in education, training, and scientific research, particularly in geology and environmental studies — fields of great interest to Viet Nam, strong suits of Poland, and among the four most successful areas of cooperation since the two countries established diplomatic relations.

Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien expressed his belief that with the solid foundation built over 75 years and the determination of agencies, research institutes, universities, and scientists from both countries, Viet Nam–Poland scientific and educational cooperation will continue to develop strongly, comprehensively, and sustainably, in line with the spirit of the Joint Declaration on elevating bilateral relations adopted during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Poland.
