The year 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Vietnam – Kazakhstan diplomatic ties and Vietnam’s major cultural events at this year’s Astana Expo 2017 not only contributed to the expo’s success but were considered as important landmarks in the friendship between the two nations.
The 2017 Astana Expo is taking place from June 10 to September 10, featuring the participation of 115 countries, territories and international organisations.
At the expo, the Vietnamese pavilion, themed ‘Traditional and modern fusion – Vietnam’s future energy’, has impressed visitors with a space imbued with the national identity and large-scale models.
In May 2015, the two ministries signed a cooperation agreement on culture and sports and, since then, the two countries have implemented numerous meaningful activities to boost their cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
On the same day, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien visited and presented a "For the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism" medal to the Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan.
