Vietnam to join ACM-ICPC Asian qualifying round

Nhan Dan Online – Vietnam’s top ten informatics teams will represent the country at the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) qualifying round for the Asian region in Phuket, Thailand from November 3-4.

The teams were selected from the 84 participants at the 2011 ACM-ICPC Vietnam competition that took place at Can Tho University from October 5-8.

The Vietnamese representatives will join others from Asia to compete for the right to enter the world finals to be held from May 14-18, 2012, in Warsaw, Poland.

The ACM-ICPC is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world. It helps foster creativity and innovation in building new software programmes, and provides college students with the opportunity to demonstrate and sharpen their problem-solving and computing skills.
