From its launch, the IMC attracted strong interest from students across schools nationwide. Following the qualifying round in Viet Nam, 63 outstanding contestants were selected to represent the country in the finals in Singapore.

Remarkably, all 63 Vietnamese participants won awards, with 55 earning medals, demonstrating their thorough preparation, serious academic dedication, and capabilities on the international intellectual stage.

The IMC is an annual competition organised by the IMC Union in Singapore since 2005, targeting students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 from various countries and territories. It is not only a mathematics competition but also a platform to nurture a passion for science, as well as logical thinking and problem-solving skills among school students.

The Vietnamese team was selected through a rigorous and fair domestic qualifying process. The best contestants from primary and lower secondary schools nationwide represented Viet Nam in the finals. Among them, two students from MAY Primary and Secondary School — Do Bao An (Class 4B1) and Le Viet Tung (Class 5A1) — won Silver Medals, contributing to the team’s overall success.

Beyond being an academic challenge, the IMC 2025 offered Vietnamese students valuable opportunities for cultural exchange and international exposure. During their time in Singapore, they explored various destinations, built friendships with peers from around the world, and gained enriching experiences.

The IMC connects the global education community and promotes mathematics learning, especially at the primary and lower secondary levels. Over the past 20 years, the IMC has established itself as a premier intellectual arena and a launching pad for young math enthusiasts worldwide, paving the way for future scholarship and study-abroad opportunities.
