According to the Vietnamese Women’s Union in Europe (VWUE), the event runs between August 19 and 31.

Nguyen Viet Trieu, President of the VWUE, stated that the union launched and sponsored the programme to foster national pride among overseas Vietnamese.

She added that the union not only organises the event but also connects dozens of Vietnamese associations in several countries to make the event a shared journey of overseas Vietnamese across Europe.

Notable activities include parades in ao dai and other traditional Vietnamese attire, folk art performances, cultural exchanges with international friends, and intergenerational connections among overseas Vietnamese communities.

The programme began with participants forming the map of Viet Nam in Warsaw (Poland) on August 19 to mark the success of the August Revolution, followed by unicorn dances and a parade in traditional costumes in Bratislava (Slovakia) on August 24.

There will be parades through historical sites in Liberec (Czech Republic) and Kosice (Slovakia) on August 29.

The event culminates on August 31 with performances in Utrecht (Netherlands), Vienna (Austria), and Brno (Czech Republic). A wreath will also be laid in London to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at a site where he once worked.

The programme conveys the message that wherever they are, Vietnamese people’s love for their homeland and cultural identity remain strong and continue to shine.
