2026 “Red Journey” programme:

Vietnamese youths continue to strengthen the Viet Nam–China friendship bridge

A delegation of nearly 200 outstanding Vietnamese youths participated in the 2026 “Red Journey for Study and Research” programme in China from April 11 to 18. The politically significant initiative aims to enhance mutual understanding, nurture revolutionary ideals, and strengthen friendship between the younger generations of the two countries.

The delegation comprised 192 youth representatives, divided into four groups: Youth Union officials and students; media and content creation; children; and culture and arts.

The programme was jointly organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, reaffirming the role of young people as a vital bridge in fostering and developing bilateral friendship.

The delegation’s 192 participants were divided into thematic groups to improve the effectiveness of study, research, and experiential activities. The media and content creation group focused on activities aligned with modern communication trends; the Youth Union officials and students group prioritised exchanges of experience in youth work and student life; the culture and arts group promoted academic exchanges and exploration of distinctive cultural values; while the children’s group engaged in age-appropriate activities designed to enhance skills and awareness.

The delegation also visited the headquarters relic site of the Viet Nam Revolutionary Youth League at 248 and 250 Wenming Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China. It was here that patriot Nguyen Ai Quoc founded the Viet Nam Revolutionary Youth League in June 1925, laying the groundwork for a structured revolutionary organisation — the precursor to the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

These activities not only helped broaden the delegates’ knowledge but also provided opportunities to gain first-hand insights into China’s development practices, which could then be applied in the Vietnamese context. They also served as an occasion for young people from both countries to enhance mutual understanding, build friendships, and promote people-to-people exchanges—one of the key foundations of bilateral relations.
