Vietnam's image promoted at international travel expo

A delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, led by Minister Nguyen Van Hung, visited Vietnam’s pavilion at the International Travel Expo (TRAVEX) held in Vientiane, Laos, on the occasion of his attendance at the 27th Meeting of the ASEAN Tourism Ministers ( January 22-27).

TRAVEX is one of the most important activities within the framework of the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Forum, attracting the great attention of partners, businesses, and international tourists.

The Vietnamese tourism pavilion at TRAVEX covers an area of 54 square metres with the participation of five localities, namely Dien Bien, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh, along with three tourism businesses.

The pavilion conveys a message of inviting tourists to Vietnam to gain complete and attractive experiences.

This is an opportunity for the tourism sector to promote Vietnam's image, support tourism businesses to reconnect with partners and markets, and contribute to promoting tourism recovery. The pavilion highlights propaganda activities regarding National Tourism Year 2024 – Dien Bien.

Thi Thanh Chuyen, Deputy Director of Dien Bien Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen, said that in joining TRAVEX, the delegation participated in a press conference to introduce the Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024 and the tourism products at Vietnam’s pavilion, as well as promote the image of the land, people, and culture of Dien Bien Province to tourists throughout ASEAN.

For Vietnam, ASEAN is one of the most important markets and partners. Multilateral cooperation within the ASEAN framework plays an important role in Vietnam's international cooperation on tourism. Vietnam is taking on the role of Chairman of the ASEAN Tourism Resources, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee for the 2024-2025 period and is the country coordinating activities of developing river tourism and festival tourism products in ASEAN tourism cooperation.

The Vietnamese delegation at the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Forum is the largest it has ever been, showing Vietnam's support for Laos’ ASEAN Chairmanship this year as well as making an important contribution to introducing Vietnamese tourism destinations,striving towards the target of 17-18 million international visitors in 2024.
