The journey begins at Tao Dan Park, where visitors can visit the Can Tho Museum to learn about the city’s formation, the national treasures of the ancient Oc Eo Culture, and the cultures of the Viet, Hoa and Khmer ethnic groups.

The museum visit also offers tourists knowledge about Can Tho’s struggle against foreign aggressors and its achievements since 1975.

According to Dao Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the new programme will diversify the city’s tourism forms, which were previously restricted to cars and boats.

The walking tour programme consists of various routes, each with a unique story, and tour guides will help tourists learn about Vietnam’s history, culture, and people through activities such as visiting the market, tasting street food, and shopping.

As part of the walking journey, tourists can visit one of the two Khmer Buddhist temples, Pitu Khosa Rangsay and Munir Ansay.

The next destination is Ninh Kieu Wharf, where visitors can admire the Hau River at the most beautiful time of the day, when cruise ships are illuminated.

Visitors will then be taken to Ong Temple, which was built in the 19th century and bears the cultural and religious characteristics of the Hoa people.

After that visitors will step on the S-shaped pedestrian bridge connecting Ninh Kieu Wharf and Cai Khe Islet.

At the end of the journey, visitors will have the opportunity to freely explore and sample local foods as well as buy souvenirs at the Ninh Kieu Night Market, where they can also enjoy street performances at night.
