The event attracted more than 1,200 contestants from 330 elementary, secondary and high schools in 18 cities and provinces across the country.
Themed ‘Connecting the World’, the contest promoted students’ creativity in proposing connecting people, trade, and information.
Students were encouraged to propose ideas and solutions on many topics that draw the interest of people around the world, such as coral conservation, marine life, solar panels, and automation.
After two qualification rounds, which were organised previously in the south-central and northern regions, the organising board selected the 14 best teams to enter the global round, to be held in the Republic of Panama.
Robotacon WRO 2023 was organized by Viet Tinh Anh- LEGO Education, in collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark, with the participation of sponsors from Vinamilk, Tetrapark, Vietravel Group, Equest Group, University Phenikaa University, Maritime University and POPs (Communication Support Agency).
Speaking at the ceremony, Troels Jakobsen, Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of Denmark, expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and sponsors for their support of the contest, which provided great opportunities for students who are passionate about robotics and programming.
For his part, Deputy Director General of the MOET’s Department of Primary Education Ta Ngoc Tri hailed, that the contest helps to discover, nurture and develop young talents in information technology, and encourage them to further their study and research in robotics and artificial intelligence.
