The project is expected to have a total investment of about 2.1 billion USD and will be implemented by a joint venture between AIC, KBC and international investors. The entire investment is expected to be completed and disbursed by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

The AI data centre will be designed to meet high technical standards, ensuring energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The initial phase of the project will begin with the development of an artificial intelligence factory with a capacity of up to 50 MW (total IT/GPU load), including about 28,000 graphics processing units (GPUs).

The facility is expected to be ready for commercial operation from 2026. Once operational, the infrastructure will provide computing capacity for international clients, Viet Nam’s sovereign artificial intelligence needs, as well as large-scale high-performance computing systems.

The project aims to build modern data infrastructure that meets international standards, serving socio-economic development and promoting research and the application of artificial intelligence in multiple sectors.

The project will also contribute to the development of computing infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, fostering the formation of an ecosystem for innovation, technology research and development, and the digital economy in Ho Chi Minh City.

Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, said the project is designed to be ready for commercial operation according to schedule, providing computing capacity for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing demands from both domestic and international clients, as well as Viet Nam’s sovereign artificial intelligence needs.

The project’s technology is designed to align with overall development trends, meeting high technical standards while ensuring energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The project aims to build modern data infrastructure that meets international standards; promote research and the application of artificial intelligence across industries and sectors; and contribute to the development of an ecosystem for innovation, technology research and development, and the digital economy in Ho Chi Minh City.
