The conference will take place at the Government Office headquarters, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung. The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Government Office are jointly organising the event in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation. Attendees will include representatives of ministries, sectors, local authorities, research institutes, universities, and the business community. Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan will co-chair the discussion and question-and-answer session.
The event aims to align research with practical needs, focusing on ways to bring scientific findings into production and business activities while developing products with market value. Leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology will present a report on the current state of collaboration between research institutes, universities, and businesses in scientific and technological research and development, identifying key bottlenecks and proposing solutions to strengthen these links.
Representatives of the Ha Noi People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Viettel Group, the Institute of Machinery and Industrial Equipment, Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company, Vinamit Joint Stock Company, Hue University, and the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute will share their experiences and collaboration models.
Discussions will cover technology development partnerships, increasing the value of agricultural products, commercialising medicinal materials, and applying research findings in production.
The discussion and question-and-answer session will focus on five key areas: businesses' involvement in identifying and commissioning research tasks; mechanisms for joint investment and risk-sharing between the State and businesses; connecting businesses with suitable research institutes, universities, and partner institutions; intellectual property, assets, and the rights and interests of the parties involved; and turning research findings into technologies and commercial products.
The effectiveness of collaboration between research institutes, universities, and businesses should be reflected in technologies transferred, products commercialised, and new value generated for the economy. The conference is expected to identify tasks, solutions, and implementation roadmaps to bring research findings closer to production and the marketplace.
