To ensure smooth operations during the Tet holiday, over 1,100 workers manage and handle cargo at the port per shift.
During the first week of the Lunar New Year, the port has received 76 vessels, processing 110,000 TEUs (1.5 million tonnes of goods), a 9% increase from the same period in 2024.
On New Year’s Eve alone, seven container ships were unloaded, handling nearly 10,000 TEUs (140,000 tonnes of cargo), reflecting Vietnam’s economic growth in 2025.
Phan Van Mai, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, praised Saigon Newport Corporation’s contributions and expressed hopes for further breakthroughs to support national economic recovery.
The city aims to enhance administrative reforms, create a favourable business environment, and implement its logistics development plan until 2030, while also strengthening port infrastructure.
At the ceremony, Saigon Newport Corporation donated nearly 3 billion VND to the “For the Poor” fund in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.
