This turbine will operate continually for three days under supervision before being put into a 30 day test on August 26.

The second turbine is expected to increase the plant’s electricity output to meet the future power demand for production and domestic use in the region.

Earlier, the plant’s first turbine successfully linked up with the national grid on June 11, providing over 150 million kWh of electricity so far.

The An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Project, invested by the Electricity of Vietnam, is located on the top terrace of the Song Ba terraced hydropower system, with a total capacity of generating over170 MW per day and around 700 million kWh annually.

The project involves the construction of the An Khe Hydro-electric Power Plant with two 80MW turbines and the Ka-Nak Hydropower Plant with two 6.5 MW turbines, aiming to generate electricity, contain floods and regulate water to the basin below An Khe dam in 2011 and the following years.
