Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Cao Xuan Thu Van worked with the People’s Committee of Bac Lieu Province on August 2, to discuss the organisation of the festival.
With the theme “Enhancing the value of Vietnamese salt”, the festival will feature 30 main events, including 25 events implemented by the province and five in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Lieu Province Pham Van Thieu said, that Bac Lieu salt (also known as Ba Thac salt) is a famous brand that has been associated with local salt makers for many years and salt making has become a traditional profession of the coastal people.
With nearly 1,500 ha, Bac Lieu is the largest salt production locality in the country.
