Binh Dinh hosts international hot-air balloon festival

An international hot-air balloon festival themed “Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh – Sea Paradise” officially opened in Quy Nhon City, in the south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh.

The festival will take place until May 5, offering an opportunity for the locals and visitors from across the country and the world to admire the beautiful hot-air balloons with their various colours and sizes.

The event is also the chance for visitors to discover interesting and new experiences as they can ride on hot-air balloons to admire the entire scene of the beautiful Quy Nhon City.

There are two forms for participants to select from, including free-flying and anchored services.

Thousands of locals and visitors flock to Quy Nhon Square to admire the hot-air balloons with their different colours, sizes, and types.

Free-flying service are provided at 6am every day, carrying two passengers and one pilot. Hot-air balloons fly at an altitude of 300-500m and travel 5-10km from the take-off point.

Meanwhile, "anchored" hot-air balloons are also arranged at the ground for visitors to experience from 5:30pm to 7:30pm every day, with each carrying 2-3 passengers and one pilot. The duration for each flight is 5 minutes in weather conditions without rain and wind speeds below 8km/h.

During the festival, visitors can also enjoy art performances and local unique dishes of Binh Dinh Province and many others around the country as well as join various entertainment activities and games.
