The route will run from Vietnam’s Ha Tinh province through Laos’ Khammouane province and into Thailand’s Nakhon Phanom province. The bus will return along the same route.
The route is being opened to the meet travel demands of local residents, to boost development where it runs through and to promote tourism and economic co-operation between the three countries, said officials at a meeting on July 30.
According to the plan, each day there will be two trips departing from Ha Tinh and two from Nakhon Phanom at 7 am and 1 pm.
The route, developed by Ha Tinh authorities, is part of the Cross-Transport Border Facilitation Agreement that aims to enhance connectivity between the countries of the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
