The provincial leader made the request at the launch ceremony of an emulation campaign to encourage local business to foster production and business activities in 2022 which was held on February 8 in Bao Hung International JSC in Vu Thu District.
He hailed that despite tremendous difficulties and challenges caused by COVID-19 last year, the business community and people in Thai Binh Province exerted every effort to fulfil the provincial socio-economic development tasks and goals set for 2021.
Accordingly, the state budget revenue in the province reached 10 trillion VND. The locality attracted 7 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth a total of 540 million USD.
Attention has also been paid to ensuring social security and welfares for locals, especially on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, during which more than 400,000 gifts worth about 150 billion VND were presented to the poor, revolutionary contributors, and workers.
In 2021, more than 700 firms, branches and representative offices were granted business registration certificates. To date, the province now has more than 7,800 businesses and nearly 1,000 branches and representative offices with total registered capital of nearly 99 trillion VND, he reported.
He asked the local business community to improve business capacity and quality of corporate governance, strengthen research in order to keep up with development trends of domestic and international markets.
It is also necessary to care for the material and spiritual lives of workers and employees, he added.
He expressed his hope that businesses will continue actively participating in investment promotion activities at Thai Binh Economic Zone in order to turn it into a key economic zone of Thai Binh Province.
