The event, themed "Continuing the Legacy – Aspiration for the Nation", was jointly organised by the Military Youth Board, the Political Department of Military Region 2 and the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union.
In a solemn ceremony, participants offered incense and lit candles at the graves of fallen soldiers, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in defence of the nation.
Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People's Army, said the programme reflected the nation's enduring tradition of gratitude and aimed to inspire patriotism, peace and a sense of responsibility among younger generations. The activities, he noted, also contribute to preserving the legacy of those who gave their lives for the country.
In recent years, military youth organisations have launched a wide range of initiatives to support Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, war veterans, families of martyrs and other beneficiaries of preferential policies. They have also actively participated in the nationwide 500-day campaign to search for, recover and identify the remains of fallen soldiers through DNA analysis.
At the ceremony, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence and partner organisations presented 79 gift packages, 100 restored portraits of martyrs, funding for three charitable homes and two houses for military families, together with 100 scholarships for local students.
The commemorative programme concluded with a special artistic performance featuring patriotic songs and dances celebrating Viet Nam's revolutionary traditions, honouring the sacrifice of fallen heroes and encouraging younger generations to contribute to national development and defence.
