Children participating at the event listened to the reading of a letter penned by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to all children in Vietnam and Vietnamese children overseas, in which he shared joy with them on the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.
On the occasion, the organising board presented 400 gifts, 50 scholarships and 30 bicycles worth more than VND100 million in total to children in the capital city.
Also on September 30, the Central Council of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation in coordination with the Vietnam Children Support and Development Centre and Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union held a programme at the Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School in Tuy An District to award 800 presents, a drum kit, textbooks, and learning equipment to students of the school.
The organising board also handed over a children’s entertainment playground project to Tuy An District’s authorities.
Meanwhile in Hai Phong City, the local Trade Union visited and presented 5,000 gift packages worth VND200,000 each to children of workers, orphans, children with disabilities and those living in difficult circumstances to help them celebrate a happy Full-moon Festival.
Nearly 600 children in Thanh Hoa Province were entertained with joyful art performances and exciting folk games at a gathering held at Thuong Xuan District’s boarding school on October 1 by the provincial Youth Union and the Bibica Corporation.
At the event, 50 presents and 30 bicycles were gifted to underprivileged students in the district.

A gleeful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration was also held for Overseas Vietnamese children in Cambodia’s Preah Sihanouk Province by the Vietnamese General Consulate in the province, the Khmer-Vietnam Association and the Viettel Cambodia Company (Metfone), during which 50 gifts were presented to participating children.
A similar event was also organised at Phat Tich Pagoda in Vientiane, Laos, by the Association of Vietnamese People in Laos, bringing great joy to hundreds of children of the Overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
