The ‘Sun Wheel’ is 115 metres tall and is among the 10 tallest wheels in the world, has 64 cabins, takes 15 minutes to complete a revolution and can carry 384 persons per revolution. The wheel promises to give tourists new views such as the sunset or sparkling night sky over the charming Da Nang cityscape.

The project offers tourists not only the multi-layered cityscape but also a view of the Buddhist statue carved from 20 tonnes of stone and reaching 4.7 metres in height.

Construction of the wheel, designed by famous US architect Bill Bensley, began in May 2013.

A Sun Wheel promotion programme from July 18 to December 31 will offer special tickets priced at VND50,000 (US$2.4) each, with the Sun Wheel open from 9pm to 11pm every day.

The observation wheel is a part of the Asian Park project, which covers 88 hectares, has a total investment of VND4 trillion (US$190 million) and is expected to attract about 2.5 million visitors annually.
