The award for Best Marketing Campaign for a News Brand went to the political-artistic programme “To Quoc Trong Tim” (The Fatherland in Our Hearts), while the Most Innovative Digital Product award went to “Hanh Trinh Doc Lap” (Journey to Independence).
Nhan Dan is among the few news organisations to have won two or more awards at this year’s ceremony held in the Phillipines on April 28, joining the ranks of international media outlets such as Singapore Press Holdings, Seoul Economic Daily, Channel News Asia, and United Daily News Group.
Beyond the entries’ professional quality and technological sophistication, the international jury, composed of respected journalists, highly valued their creativity and broad public reach.
Prior to receiving the WAN-IFRA awards, “To Quoc Trong Tim” had already secured a series of prestigious domestic accolades.
Beyond its strong political and artistic character, the programme has been regarded by experts as a prime example of how a media organisation can engage the public through community activities and large-scale events.
The programme attracted a crowd of up to 50,000 to My Dinh Stadium in Ha Noi, featuring memorable moments such as the entire audience singing the national anthem in unison and a military parade by soldiers of the Viet Nam People’s Army.
The musical film “To Quoc Trong Tim” subsequently generated strong interest in cinemas and through touring screenings at universities, helping to inspire enthusiasm and patriotism among young audiences.
Meanwhile, “Hanh Trinh Doc Lap”, a digital product developed from the special supplement marking the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day, has been highly praised for combining political content with cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
The product traces President Ho Chi Minh’s journey from his return to take direct leadership of the Vietnamese revolution in 1941 to his delivery of the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945.
This represents an innovative approach to storytelling in the digital age, aimed at educating and engaging younger readers with major events in the nation’s history.
Both works form part of Nhan Dan’s campaign commemorating the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day, and have also been shortlisted for the WAN-IFRA global media awards, to be held in Marseille, France, in June 2026.
These two awards bring the total number of international journalism prizes won by Nhan Dan Newspaper to four.
In 2024, the Party organ received a Gold Award in the Best Marketing Strategy category at the WAN-IFRA Asian Media Awards for its campaign marking the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, and the Sustainability and Print Innovation Award 2024 for its Dien Bien Phu Panorama supplement – both conferred by WAN-IFRA.
