The event, part of the ASEAN Intellectual Property Rights Action Plan 2020–2025, focused on raising awareness among customs officers, businesses, and consumers about the harms of counterfeit goods.
At the conference, numerous international experts and rights holders shared practical experiences, introduced recommended tools from the World Customs Organisation (WCO), and displayed authentic and counterfeit products to provide hands-on guidance on identification.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Anh Tai, Deputy Head of the Customs Supervision and Management Board, stressed that customs authorities are not only responsible for managing imports and exports but also serve as the frontline force in protecting intellectual property rights at the border.
Through the ‘Don’t Risk It’ campaign, Viet Nam Customs have reaffirmed their strong commitment to combating counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights infringements, thereby contributing to a transparent, fair, and sustainable trading environment.
The event marked an important opportunity for Viet Nam Customs to continue strengthening their capacity in enforcing intellectual property rights amid the booming e-commerce landscape, underscoring the pivotal role of customs authorities in protecting consumers and supporting sustainable business development.
