The signing ceremony included cooperation agreements between universities, higher education institutions, and corporations, and businesses.

The event was attended by representatives of central and local agencies, international organisations, and leaders of 50 higher education and vocational training institutions with strengths in training and research in high technology and strategic technologies.

Nearly 120 delegates, including leaders of agencies, organisations and associations, as well as businesses operating in high technology and strategic technology sectors such as Viet Nam Railways Corporation, Hoa Phat, Thaco, Navigos Group, CT Group, Mitsubishi Electric, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical, and Panasonic, took part in the event.

The university-industry linkages forum, under the theme “Tripartite cooperation in training and research on high technology and strategic technologies”, provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss and propose solutions ranging from mechanisms and policies to cooperation culture, thereby enhancing the linkage among the “three pillars” (the State, universities, and enterprises) to help develop a high-quality workforce and to drive breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son stated that the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government have always paid special attention to fostering close linkages among stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem.

He emphasised that the State, universities, and enterprises cannot operate in isolation but must work together and support one another to address major challenges in the economy and create breakthroughs in the high-tech and strategic technology sectors prioritised by the country.

Speaking at the forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of the University of Da Nang, stressed that the forum serves as an important bridge, reflecting a shared social responsibility in connecting the “three pillars” (the State, universities, and enterprises).

During the thematic sessions, 25 papers were presented and discussed by delegates in two topic groups: university-business cooperation in research and training of high-quality human resources, and building a culture of cooperation to affirm the social responsibility of universities and businesses.

The forum also witnessed the signing of 21 memoranda of understanding between universities, higher education institutions, and corporations/businesses, focusing on cooperation in training and research in strategic and priority fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and cloud computing.
