Deputy PM Nguyen Van Thang extends Vesak greetings in Hue

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang on May 29 led a delegation from the Government and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee to visit and extend congratulations to the Executive Board of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City and prominent Buddhist dignitaries on the occasion of Vesak 2026 (Buddhist Calendar 2570).

At Tu Dam Pagoda, on behalf of the Party, State, Government and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang conveyed his warm regards, sincere sentiments and best wishes to senior Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, lay Buddhists and followers in Hue City on the occasion of Vesak 2570.

The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the important contributions made by the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist followers to the country’s overall achievements.

He stressed that Buddhism in Hue City has consistently served as a positive force in fostering social ethics, strengthening the great national unity bloc, and contributing to the sustainable development of the homeland and the country.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the close attention of Party, State and Government leaders, Most Venerable Thich Khe Chon, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha and Head of the Executive Board of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City, affirmed that monks, nuns and Buddhist followers would continue to uphold the tradition of harmony and solidarity with the nation, while joining hands with Party committees, authorities and the people to build Hue City into an increasingly civilised, prosperous and happy city.
