This was the first direct flight from Vladivostok (Russian Federation) to Phu Quoc; it landed after nearly seven hours of travel. The first group of Russian visitors arrived under a full charter tour package, including air tickets, accommodation, sightseeing, and local services, operated by Anex Viet Nam Trading and Tourism Company Limited.

A formal welcome ceremony for the international visitors from the Russian Federation was organised by the local authorities, featuring a ceremonial water cannon salute on the runway, a traditional lion dance performance in the arrival hall, and the presentation of Vietnamese conical hats to guests. The activities created a warm and memorable impression of Phu Quoc as a safe, hospitable, and attractive destination.

According to the plan, following this flight, Phu Quoc will receive charter flights operated by Azur Air and Vietjet Air departing from 14 cities across Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), with a frequency of 75–80 flights per month, transporting more than 10,000 international tourists monthly.

The reopening of the direct air route from Russia to Phu Quoc presents a valuable opportunity to promote the “Pearl Island” to international airlines and global tour operators.
