According to statistics from the General Statistics Office, the number of businesses owned by women in Vietnam accounted for about 27% in 2023, higher than the global average. Female entrepreneurs not only affirm their mettle in the marketplace but also make positive contributions to socio-economic development.
Experts at the forum also said that in the digital age, women have many advantages in grasping technology, being flexible in management and being creative in business. However, there are still many barriers that need to be removed, such as accessing capital, expanding international markets and improving digital skills.
2024 marked an important development step for the International Women Entrepreneurs Council with the expansion of its operations in China through a strategic partnership with the Langfang Women’s Entrepreneurs Association.
In addition to promoting trade, the International Women Entrepreneurs Council also focused on supporting the training and improving the leadership capacity of female entrepreneurs through cooperation programs with universities and research institutes.
At the event, representatives of the International Women Entrepreneurs Council also shared plans to organise the International Women Entrepreneurs Summit in 2026, scheduled to take place in Hanoi, bringing together female business leaders from more than 30 countries.
