Co-organised by the Vietnam Economic Times and the international investment promotion alliance - Investor Global, the forum was an event to celebrate the Vietnam's ASEAN Chair Year 2020 and the 37th ASEAN Summit taking place in Hanoi.
Training forum aimed at identifying, analysing and evaluating the practice of digital transformation of enterprises on different industries and fields, thereby offering solutions to help accelerate the digital transformation of Vietnamese enterprises to meet the development requirements of the new context, contributing to the achievement of the government's goals.
The forum consists of two sessions: The first session included synthesized speeches and in-depth analysis of the industry, field and the pillar factor of digital transformation. The second session included specific issues of digital transformation processes in different sectors of the business.
Digital transformation is expected to speed up business sustainable growth in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Editor in Chief of the Vietnam Economic Times, Chu Van Lam, businesses have a vital role to play in the process.
“The government aims to have 20% of the GDP generated by the digital economic sector by 2025, with average labour productivity surpassing 7% and ranking among the top 35 countries in terms of innovation. Businesses are at the forefront of digital transformation for survival in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Editor in Chief of the Vietnam Economic Times Lam said.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said the digital transformation requires investment in resources and strategies in phases. He added, “The government and businesses are aware of digital transformation in the Industry 4.0 as a booster for Vietnam to narrow its development gaps with other countries towards sustainable prosperity.
