Chien made the comment on October 11 during a conference held by the VFF to listen to the wishes and proposals of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha to the Party, State and Fatherland Front.

In addition to playing their part in the fight against COVID-19, the Buddhist Sangha also encouraged its followers to actively participate in the activities to revive economic growth, protect the environment, and help those in need.

At the conference, Buddhist leaders asked the Party, State and VFF to support the sangha in successfully organising the 9th National Buddhist Congress for the 2022-2027 tenure, scheduled to take place in November 2022.

They also called for revisions and additions of legal documents concerning healthcare, education, culture and social security in order to realise the Party’s policy of bringing the fine values and resources of religions into play in national development.

VFF President Do Van Chien affirmed that the front will report to the Party, State and functional authorities in order to realise the Buddhist Sangha’s proposals and suggestions that are beneficial to the people and the country.

He also said he expects the Buddhist Sangha to continue upholding the tradition of protecting the nation and comforting the people, while making greater contributions to the cause of national development.
