The event attracted the participation of more than 400 delegates, who are Khmer Theravada Buddhist monks, dignitaries, followers and patriarchs in the Khmer community in the province.
Delegates at the event were updated on the socio-economic development achievements of Soc Trang province, in recent years. Accordingly, the province has effectively implemented policies on developing culture, education-training and human resource training, while ensuring social welfare for local people, including Khmer ethnic community.
The provincial Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist Monks has made significant contributions to consolidating the Khmer people’s trust in the leader of the Party and State.
At the gathering, the Buddhist dignitaries were urged to continue to encourage followers, to observe the Party’s guidelines, and State’s policies and laws, actively join in patriotic emulation campaigns and contribute to boosting the provincial development.
On the occasion, the provincial leaders presented gifts to Buddhist dignitaries, who have made remarkable contributions to the provincial socio-economic development in recent years and handed over scholarships to disadvantaged Khmer students in the locality.
