The film brought home the Golden Kite awards for Best Feature Film, Press Vote, Best Director (Nguyen Quang Huy), Best Supporting Actor (Ngo Kien Huy) and Best Photography (Trang Cong Minh).
Two Silver Kite Awards went to Teo Em, directed by Charlie Nguyen, and Ham Tran’s Am Muu Giay Got Nhon (How to Fight in Six-inch Heels).
Best Leading Actor and Actress prizes were presented to Thai Hoa and Kathy Uyen for their outstanding performances in Teo Em and Am Muu Giay Got Nhon.
The TV series category saw a major triumph by Thuyen Giay (Paper Boat), directed by Nham Minh Huyen, which received the Best TV series, Best Director, Best Leading Actor and Best Leading Actress prizes.
Con Di Truong Hoc (Going to School) by Ha Le Diem took top honours in the short film category, while Dan Seu Co Tro Ve (The Cranes Coming Back) by Dao Minh Uyen earned the Best Cartoon prize.
Best Scientific Film went to Chuyen Cua Da (Story of Stones) by Nguyen Tai Van. Best Documentary Feature belonged to Chuyen Ve Ben Nuoc, Nui Rung va Nuong Ray (Story about Wharfs, Forest and Rice Fields) by Do Dai Tin, while Nhung Tam Hon Viet Tren Dat Nhat (Vietnamese Souls in Japan) by Nguyen Quoc Khanh was named the Best Documentary TV Series.
Instructions to Write a Film Script by Doan Minh Tuan earned the Best Research Projects on Cinematic Theory and Criticism prize.
The Vietnam Cinematography Association has held the Golden Kite Awards annually in March since 2003 to honour the best cinematographic works and artists of the year.
