The event features nearly 100 booths across an area of 6,000 square metres, promoting fruits and other agricultural specialties with brands and geographical indications from Vietnam’s six regions.
The festival aims to support connections in selling fruit as well as ensure a stable supply of essential goods, fruits and agricultural produce for consumers, especially at the end of the year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade (DIT) Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the event helps consumers to access safe and high-quality goods.
At the event, Hanoi’s enterprises signed cooperation agreements with other localities to consume 250,000 tonnes of goods, including 100,000 tonnes of fruit.
In the future, the DIT will continue working with relevant agencies to implement measures to boost domestic demand, increase retail sale and consumer service revenue, and strengthen regional trade linkages.
Hanoi Fruit Festival 2022 will last until October 10.
