According to the decision, the project will be developed by Trung Nam Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company and Trung Nam Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company in Cu Pong and Ea Khal communes, Dak Lak Province. It is expected to contribute to increasing the supply of renewable energy, leveraging local potential, and fostering socio-economic development in the Central Highlands region.

With a designed capacity of 77MW, the Ea Sin Wind Power Plant will be equipped with a comprehensive range of facilities, including wind turbines, a 220/33kV transformer station with a capacity of 90MVA, and a 220kV transmission line connecting to the 500kV transformer station at the Ea Nam Wind Power Plant. Its annual electricity output is expected to reach 200 million - 270 million kWh. Notably, the project’s grid connection infrastructure will be developed under a shared-infrastructure arrangement, linking it with the Ea Sin 2 Wind Power Plant project while also expanding the feeder bays at the 500kV transformer station of the Ea Nam Wind Power Plant.

The synchronised investment in a grid-connection system is intended to ensure the effective transmission of electricity from the power plant to the national grid, while simultaneously optimising infrastructure to serve the development of energy projects in the region.

Nguyen Tam Thinh, Chairman of Trungnam Group, said that connecting infrastructure between projects was an approach the company had planned in advance. According to him, investment in interconnected infrastructure would help optimise grid connections, laying the foundations for following energy projects, thereby bringing benefits to the locality during the planning and investment process.

Under the approved plan, the project is expected to complete its investment and basic construction procedures and commence commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The development of the Ea Sin Wind Power Plant will further extend Trungnam’s renewable energy investment activities in Dak Lak. Since 2021, the business has invested in and developed an onshore wind power project with a capacity of more than 400MW in the province, placing it among the large-scale onshore wind power projects implemented in Viet Nam during that period.

Dak Lak has considerable potential for wind energy development, with favourable natural conditions, available land and room for infrastructure development. As the growing energy demand, effectively harnessing renewable energy sources will not only help increase supply to the national power system but also create opportunities to attract investment in infrastructure, industry, and energy.

In line with the enterprise’s investment strategy, developing large-scale energy projects alongside synchronous transmission and grid connection systems will help harness local resources and provide fresh impetus for socio-economic development in Dak Lak in particular and the Central Highlands as a whole.
