Hanoi students win six medals at the International Junoir Science Olympiad

At the 20th International Junior Science Olympiad in Thailand, all six students from Hanoi won medals, including one silver medal and five bronze medals.

The event was held in Thailand from December 1-10 and attracted the participation of contestants from 54 countries and territories. The total number of candidates participating in the exam is 304. The organising committee awarded 182 medals, including 34 Gold Medals, 61 Silver Medals and 87 Bronze Medals. Hanoi students won six medals, including one Silver Medal and five Bronze Medals.

All six students of the team participating in this year's exam are in 10th grade. The silver medallist is Hoang Pham Minh Khanh from Newton Middle and High School, while the remaining five members, including Hoang Ngoc Bach, Nguyen Tran Thao Nguyen, Mai Thanh Tung, Duong Dang Khoa, and Nguyen Trong Nghia who won the Bronze Medal, are all from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

The International Junior Science Olympiad was held for the first time in 2004. The Hanoi student team participated in the event for the first time in 2007 and usually won many medals.
