In Pictures: Special art programme marks 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory
On May 6, a special art programme was held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024).

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that the Dien Bien Phu Victory has gone down in the world’s history as a glorious victory that broke through the stronghold of the colonial slavery system of imperialism.
The art programme used many figurative languages and unique artistic techniques, connecting the past, the present,and the future while recalling the period when all people followed the Party’s appeal to support the front.

The images of ethnic minority people participating in the campaign and bringing supplies to the battlefield and hundreds of soldiers pulling artillery into the frontline were recreated at the programme.
The special art programme aimed to pay tribute to the legendary people and heroic fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the national liberation, thereby further appreciating the value of independence and freedom today and sending a message of peace to humanity.
