Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District is hosting a myriad of activities in the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area from December 29, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
A flower festival is taking place at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung District. With around 60,000 flower pots on display, the festival recreates the lands of flowers across Vietnam, including Tan Quy Dong Flower Village in Dong Thap Province and Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province.
Visitors to the 10-day event can also participate in various entertainment and artistic activities.
Hanoi's major tourist sites, such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison, offer many interesting programmes to welcome visitors during the New Year holiday.

In Son Tay town, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Village launched a night market at Mong Phu communal house yard, selling typical local products made by Duong Lam people themselves.
The market-goers can also admire paintings about Duong Lam Ancient Village and learn more about the traditional costumes of the villagers.
In Ho Chi Minh City, a night tour themed ‘District 1 - Colours of the Night’ kicked off to help tourists explore the city at night with a combination of art enjoyment activities, night walks, shopping, and culinary experiences.
The city has recently inaugurated a 20-hectare park along the Saigon River, stretching from Ba Son Bridge to the Saigon River Tunnel.
The park houses community spaces, playgrounds, bridges, pedestrian areas, and parking lots.
The highlight of the park is the sunflower field of 15,000 sunflowers. Another 20,000 sunflowers are expected to bloom during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in 2024.
The city’s hospitality sector is also organising a series of activities such as countdown events, paragliding, hot air balloon rides, cuisine and community sports activities, to offer the fullest experience to visitors on the New Year holiday.

According to Vice Chairman of Mu Cang Chai District People's Committee Sung A Chua, in 2023, the district welcomed more than 370,000 tourists.
On the New Year holiday, when many tourists flock to the locality, the district’s authorities have strengthened the management of service prices, social security and order, and environmental sanitation in the area.
The northern province of Ha Giang is expected to greet more than 10,000 vacationers during the New Year holiday in 2024.
From the beginning of December, most accommodations in the four tourist districts of Dong Van Karst Plateau were fully booked for the New Year vacation.
In Cao Banh Village, Phuong Thien Commune, Ha Giang City, locals celebrate the Dao Ethnic Cultural Festival with many unique cultural activities, folk games, and art performances.
On December 30 and 31, visitors to the Bac Ha District in Lao Cai Province are invited to join the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival, which features a wide range of cultural and culinary activities.
Sa Pa Town in Lao Cai Province staged a vibrant winter festival from December 20 to January 2, 2024. This is the fourth year the event has been held, becoming a new impressive and attractive tourism product of Sa Pa.
This year’s event is expected to attract about 180,000 more visitors.
In 2023, Moc Chau District in the northern mountainous province of Son La was recognised as “The World’s Leading Regional Nature Destination”.
During the New Year holiday, the Provincial Tourism Association, in coordination with Moc Chau District’s authorities, introduced many new tourist products and services to help visitors explore the local natural scenery, such as tours to Hang Tau primitive village, Nang Tien (Fairy) Waterfall, and Happy Land Moc Chau tourist area.
