Politburo member Anh, who is also permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, made the request at a ceremony hosted in Hanoi on August 14 by the MIC to celebrate its 70th anniversary (1945 -2015).

He praised the sector’s strong development in post, telecommunications, IT, press and publications, saying that the sectors’ achievements have contributed to the country’s socio-economic developments, industrialisation and modernisation.

He requested businesses working in the sector reform their operations in order to improve efficiency, raise productivity and product quality, and increase competitiveness.

He also called on the MIC to strengthen co-ordination with relevant ministries, sectors and localities in ensuring information security, respond quickly to the risks of Internet attacks, safeguard national cyberspace sovereignty, and manage external information well.

Also at the ceremony, the MIC released a special postal stamp set marking its 70th anniversary.
