Music show to combine jazz and Vietnamese folk songs

Well-known Vietnamese jazz band JumpforJazz is expected to delight Hanoi music lovers with a special free concert introducing unique Jazz pieces at the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in Hanoi on October 17.

The event will feature well-known musicians Nguyen Bao Long (saxophone), Hoang Ha (drum), Vu Ngoc Ha (electric bass), Nguyen Huu Vuong (piano) and special young talent guitarist Trinh Thy San.

During the concert, JumpforJazz will presented a surprising and unique self-composed fusion of Jazz and Vietnamese folk songs.

JumpforJazz will also spend half the concert playing original pieces composed by American jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane.

Additionally, the concert will feature the newest variations composed by Nguyen Bao Long who was music director and leader of the band.

The concert is expected to contribute to inspiring and encouraging young and talented Vietnamese music students to learn and play Jazz music.

JumpforJazz was formed aiming to popularise Jazz music as widespread and diverse as possible to music lovers through a wide variety of concerts.

The concert will begin at 8pm in the courtyard at the Centre.
