Ceremony held to honour Tan Vien Mountain Saint

Ba Vi Commune of Ha Noi held an incense-offering ceremony to mark the death anniversary of Tan Vien Mountain Saint at Ha Temple, Phu Loi Hamlet, on December 25 (the sixth day of the 11th lunar month).

The ceremony was conducted in a solemn and reverent atmosphere, serving as an occasion to pay tribute to the merits of the saint revered as the foremost figure among the “Four Immortals” in Vietnamese folk belief, while reaffirming the enduring value of spiritual and cultural heritage in the contemporary life of the capital.

In his opening remarks, Le Van Quan, Secretary of the Ba Vi Commune Party Committee, stressed that the incense-offering ceremony commemorating the death anniversary of Tan Vien Mountain Saint is an event of particular significance, embodying the traditional moral principle of “remembering the source of one’s blessings”. It reflects the profound gratitude of the local Party organisation, authorities, and people towards the saint, who is believed to have protected and blessed the nation with peace, favourable weather, and prosperity.

The 2025 incense-offering ceremony commemorating the death anniversary of Tan Vien Mountain Saint was not only a traditional religious practice but also an opportunity to reaffirm the role and place of spiritual culture in modern social life.

The event also contributes to strengthening community cohesion, reinforcing public trust in the Party and local authorities, and creating momentum for the locality to continue preserving and promoting heritage values in association with the sustainable development of spiritual and cultural tourism.
