Nearly 450 delegates to attend 8th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings

Scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 16 to 18, the 8th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings in 2025 will feature 444 official delegates who are outstanding examples in many different fields.

According to the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, 41.99% of the delegates are female and 58.01% are male; 85.55% of the delegates are Kinh ethnic group, while 14.45% represents ethnic minority groups; and 6.09% of delegates follow a religion. Among them are one associate professor and 11 doctors. Additionally, 34 delegates have received international or regional awards. The eight youngest delegates were born in 2008 and are 17 years old this year.

Each of the 444 delegates represents a unique story, yet all share a common spirit of pride, enthusiasm, and creativity. Inspired by Uncle Ho’s teachings as their guiding compass, they remain undaunted by difficulties, hardship, striving for excellence in all fields from study, professional work to community engagement and daily life.

Among the prominent delegates are Associate Professor Dr Tran Le Hung, author of 24 prestigious scientific publications at home and abroad; Dinh Cao Son, winner of a Gold Medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad and one of Viet Nam's Outstanding Young Faces of 2023; and singer Nguyen Thi Hoa (stage name Hoa Minzy), who inspires others through her work to revitalise the traditional Vietnamese culture. Another notable figure is Sung A Tua, who uses his social media account to promote Phinh Ho (Yen Bai), attracting hundreds of thousands of followers.

Other outstanding delegates include Huynh Nguyen Phuong Thuy, who participated in successfully investigating nine cases, arrested and prosecuted 92 individuals; and Vu Nhat Huong, who was awarded the Medal for the cause of UN peacekeeping by the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

During the three-day congress, delegates will attend a ceremony to report their achievements to Uncle Ho and to present the "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" badge; visit and experience typical historical, cultural, and socio-economic sites of Ho Chi Minh City; visit and present gifts to Agent Orange victims; and present youth projects on the embankment along the Saigon River. The highlight of the congress is the national ceremony to commend advanced youth following Uncle Ho's teachings in 2025, scheduled to take place on the afternoon of May 17.

The congress continues to strongly apply information technology and promote digital transformation in the entire organisation process. Notably, application submissions, review and compilation are managed entirely through an online software platform, ensuring transparency, accuracy, convenience and time efficiency.

At the congress, delegates will exchange, discuss, contribute ideas as well as send messages as well as share initiatives and good models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in both direct and online formats on flexible and modern digital platforms.
