Ninh Binh Party Secretary Truong Quoc Huy said that, with the motto “the success of enterprises is the success of the province”, the province always listens to concerns of businesses and directs the provincial industrial park management board to address them in a timely manner.
Within the meeting, Japanese enterprises highlighted a number of issues such as abrupt power failures and frequent flooding following heavy rains, which affect their production and goods storage.
They also pointed to a shortage of workers after the Lunar New Year holiday and suggested that the province build affordable housing to retain them.
Another issue facing Japanese enterprises is changes in administrative procedures following the merger of provinces and implementation of a two-tier local government model.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Ninh Binh Chairman Pham Quang Ngoc said the province is working to resolve the difficulties facing enterprises.
Specifically, the province has directed the power utility to work with the industrial park management board to minimise power cuts, and is also investing in pumping stations to address flooding in Dong Van Industrial Park.
Ngoc added that the province is focusing on building social housing to attract and retain workers while also constructing new roads linking the province’s economic centres to facilitate workers’ commutes.
With regard to the two-tier local government, Ninh Binh has directed local authorities to create favourable conditions for enterprises investing in the province when handling administrative procedures.
He said the provincial government hopes to receive more feedback from investors to help create the most conducive investment climate for them.
