In addition to regularly operated daily passenger services, including four pairs of Thong Nhat trains SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6 and SE7/8 (Ha Noi–Sai Gon); one pair of SE19/20 (Ha Noi–Da Nang); one pair of NA1/2 (Ha Noi–Vinh); one pair of SE22/21 (Sai Gon–Da Nang); two pairs of Central Heritage trains (Hue–Da Nang); one pair of SNT2/1 (Sai Gon–Nha Trang); one pair of SPT2/1 (Sai Gon–Phan Thiet); two pairs of SP trains (Ha Noi–Lao Cai); and four pairs of Hoa Phuong Do (Red Flamboyant) trains (Ha Noi–Hai Phong) — the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will operate additional short-haul services and add carriages to trains already in operation.
Accordingly, the company will run extra short-haul services, providing around 13,400 seats in total. These include two services on the Sai Gon–Nha Trang route: SNT6 on December 31, 2025, and SNT5 on January 4, 2026; two services on the Sai Gon–Phan Thiet route: SPT4 on January 1, 2026, and SPT3 on January 4, 2026; and eight services on the Ha Noi–Hai Phong route, comprising LP9 and HP3 on January 1–3, 2026, LP10 and HP4 on January 2–4, 2026, HP3 on January 1, 2026, and HP4 on January 4, 2026. On the Ha Noi–Lao Cai route, four additional services will be operated, including SP1 on December 31, 2025, and January 2, 2026, and SP2 on January 1–4, 2026.
For daily services, the company will attach the maximum possible number of additional carriages to Thong Nhat trains and other short-haul trains in operation to meet passenger demand.
On the north–south Thong Nhat services (SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, and SE7/8), approximately 2,260 additional seats will be provided; SE22/21 (Sai Gon–Da Nang) will add 840 seats; SNT2/1 (Sai Gon–Nha Trang) 896 seats; and SPT2/1 (Sai Gon–Phan Thiet) 848 seats.
On the Ha Noi–Vinh route, additional carriages will be attached to NA1/NA2, providing an extra 1,000 seats, while the Ha Noi–Hai Phong route will add carriages to the Hoa Phuong Do trains, offering around 1,000 additional seats.
