The information was mentioned in a report on the pre-feasibility study of the expressway which was submitted by the My Thuan Project Management Board to the Ministry of Transport.
Theroute begins from the National Highway 91 in Chau Doc City in An Giang Province and ends at Tran De Port in Soc Trang Province.
The sections through An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trong will be nearly 57 km, 38 km, 37 km and 56 km respectively. The six-lane expressway will have a width of over 32m and allow a maximum speed of 80km per hour.
The project is proposed to use the state budget and other sources in the form of public investment. It is expected that the construction of the project will be finished in 2025.
The route is expected to reduce pressure on National Highway 1 and the overloaded National Highway 91 while contributing to the completion of the regional traffic network and promoting the socio-economic development of the Western provinces.
