PCC Secretary Nguyen Trong Nghia visits hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City

Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia visited and congratulated medical workers in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).

He visited Tu Du Hospital and Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City on February 24.

At Tu Du Hospital, Director of the hospital Tran Ngoc Hai said that more than 110,000 mothers and children were provided with examination at the hospital in 2023, of which about 62,000 cases were hospitalised for treatment. The hospital recorded no deaths.

In addition, the hospital is also in charge of expertise for 32 provinces and cities as well as providing online professional consultations for hundreds of districts, towns and cities.

PCC Secretary Nguyen Trong Nghia praised the achievements of medical workers of Tu Du Hospital in recent years, especially the application of new techniques to examination and treatment to save the lives of many pregnant women and newborns.

At the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, the Party official also commended the Institute for being a pioneer in preventive health and expressed his hope that it will maintain the position as one of the typical Pasteur Institutes in the world.
